The project required the creation of 3 or more letterforms using found or created material. The letterforms were to be based on typestyles that reflected the chosen material. Each letterform was to use at least 6 letters.

 

I chose to use material found in my home; namely dice, waterballoons, present wrapping stars and a scarf with an organic print. I created the letterforms based on the typestyles Univers, VAG Rounded, Futura ND and Cronos using the letters KMOBGR.

This letterform was based on the Univers typestyle and created using dice and the letters KGOBMR. I used the dice to minimise the letterform, which was arranged on matt black mounting board and photographed using the inbuilt flash of my DSLR camera.

This letterform was based on the VAG Rounded typestyle and created using water balloons and the letters KOGBMR. I used the water ballons to reflect the characteristics of Vag Rounded and the cultural period in which this typestyle was created.  The letterforms were created on a matt black mounting board and photographed using the inbuilt flash of my DSLR camera.

This letterform was based on the Futura ND typestyle and created using circular present wrapping stars and the letters KGOBMR. I used the stars to minimise the letterform and create a Christmas feel, which was arranged on matt black mounting board and photographed using the inbuilt flash of my DSLR camera.

This letterform was based on the Cronos typestyle and created using a scarf with an organic print and the letters KOBGMR. I used the scarf and its organic pattern to reflect the characteristics of Cronos and its organic feel. The letterforms were arranged on matt black mounting board and photographed using the inbuilt flash of my DSLR camera.
